Farrah's incoming status was terrible. Two large mats covered the majority of her back. The mats had pulled fur from the skin, leaving two large sores underneath them. All along her legs and paws were mats of fur and feces. After a bath and a complete shavedown, it was evident that her skin was infected and in need of antibiotics.
These photos show the mats around her face. What was so surprising about Farrah was her temperament- despite obvious neglect, she was so sweet and friendly throughout the rescue. After all that she had been through, Farrah was licking hands and faces as she was being cared for.
Week 2
All cleaned up! After a round of antibiotics and several medicated baths, Farrah's skin is beginning to calm down. The hair that was shaved is slowly growing back, and we can see an adorable, snow-white pup. She will continue to receive baths for the next few weeks.
